Non-Spicy Food Walk

Everyone says Chongqing food is a fire alarm. It doesn't have to be. This walk proves the city has a whole gentle side — dumplings, tomato-egg noodles, sweet soups — that locals eat every day and tourists never find.

¥259 per person · 2 hours Proposed price ≈ US$36 / €33 · indicative reference only · FX verified before launch

The walk

Four stops, zero chilli emergencies.

Stop 1 · Soup dumplings

A neighbourhood shāo mài and wonton shop run by the same family for decades. Clear broth, ginger, vinegar — no heat at all.

Stop 2 · Tomato-egg noodles

Chongqing's other noodle: 番茄鸡蛋面, sweet-sour tomato broth with a silky egg ribbon. Proof xiaomian has a gentle cousin.

Stop 3 · Tofu pudding rice

Dòuhuā fàn — silky tofu over rice with a mild savoury sauce. Locals queue for this at breakfast; most foreigners never hear about it.

Stop 4 · Sweet finish

Brown-sugar rice cakes and iced brown-sugar jelly (冰粉) — the dessert Chongqing eats to cool down. One local drink included.

Route runs through local back streets (Jiaotong Street / Guanyinqiao area). Exact stops flex with the day — vendors close, we adapt. Vegetarian? We run a meat-free version of the same walk, same price.

Good to know

Questions we hear a lot.

I have a severe allergy. Is this safe?

Message us before booking. We carry printed allergy cards and brief every kitchen, but we won't pretend cross-contamination risks don't exist in open food stalls. If we can't keep you safe, we say so and don't sell.

What if I actually want to try a little spice?

Say so. We'll scale up gradually — 微辣 (wēi là, mild) exists and your guide will judge what your table can handle.

Is this also good for kids?

Yes — it's genuinely the most kid-friendly food experience we run. Under 6s join free if they share your tastings.

Where do we meet?

A metro-station meeting point in the walk area, sent with your confirmation. Late? Message the group chat and we hold your first tasting.

Can you do this as a private walk?

Yes — same route, your party only. Private version ¥699 per group up to 6; message us and we'll set it up.

Come hungry. Leave converted.
